Police Chief Cyril Carette has confirmed an earlier report published by Dominica News Online (DNO) that a police officer has been arrested.

by Dominica News Online (DNO) that a police officer has been arrested.
Speaking to DNO on the matter on Sunday, Police Chief Cyril Carette
confirmed the arrest of the constable who was stationed at the Pointe
Michel police station. However, he declined to give details.
“I can confirm his arrest but I am not saying anything on the matter
right now. At the appropriate time I will speak on it,” Carette said.
According to information reaching DNO, police constable Ohssel Tyson,
was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
and taken into police custody on April 7, 2012.
Reports indicate that the officer was under police watch for a while
for alleged illegal activities and that the arrest came as no surprise.
It is alleged that the officer has been involved in selling an
unlicensed firearm to a civilian and also is being probed for other
alleged offences.
